Top Skin Procedures to Overcome Sun Damaged Skin

Now that fall is here, you may be noticing some of the damage done to your skin over the summer. City Aesthetics at Totum Health offers a variety of cosmetic skin procedures to help reinvigorate and repair the damage done to your skin after a long summer. All procedures are performed by Double Board Certified, Facial Plastic and Reconstructive Surgeon, Dara Liotta, MD.

Chemical Peels

One of the most popular ways to improve your skin is through a simple procedure known as a chemical peel. The chemical solution is used to smoothen the outer layer of your skin by removing the outer damaged layers. It is most commonly used on the face, but this procedure can also be performed on the skin of the neck and hands.

MicroLaserPeel Skin Resurfacing

A MicroLaserPeel is a quick and effective procedure where a beam is scanned over the damaged area of skin which removes a very thin layer on the surface, making the skin change from looking dull to vibrant. The MicroLaserPeel skin procedure can offer better results than chemical peels because they are administered with great precision and depth.

Fractional Laser Resurfacing

Deeper than a MicroLaserPeel, Fractional Laser Resurfacing uses a tiny laser beam to create thousands of pinpoint injuries to your skin. Since only a fraction of the skin is directly treated with the laser, the surrounding untreated tissue promotes rapid healing to treated areas.

Broadband Light (BBL)

BBL is an effective treatment for brown spots caused by age or the sun. While using highly specialized filtered light, BBL targets specific skin lesions, while minimizing trauma to the surrounding skin. We offer different filters that target specific skin conditions and concerns. After the treatment, pigmented spots will become darker and flake off within 2 weeks.

It’s always important to make sure you’re taking the best care of your skin, especially after being exposed to sunlight.
